WELCOMING ADDRESS BY THE EDF PRESIDENT

Dear EDF Members

Dear Corporate supporting Members

Dear Guests

We are really hoping that the 26th annual scientific meeting of the European Dermatology Forum (EDF) will take place largely as a face-to-face event in 2023. The EDF board looks forward to welcoming members, guests and sponsoring partners in a convivial atmosphere that will support education, scientific exchange, collaboration and congeniality.

This EDF Annual Meeting takes place each January in Switzerland and is designed to address several of the significant issues impacting dermato-venereology and ranging from clinical, scientific to political matters.

In January 2023, after some unforeseen but necessary delays, we will again meet in Montreux, a traditional spa town nestled among steep hills on the shores of Lake Geneva. The town is known for its mild microclimate and the Montreux Jazz Festival in July. Magnificent Belle Époque buildings line the waterfront, which is lined with flowers, sculptures and Mediterranean trees. The medieval Chillon Castle is located on an island offshore. The moated castle includes ramparts, reception halls and a chapel with 14th-century murals.

The 2023 EDF Annual Meeting will be held at the Grand Hotel Suisse Majestic, a 4-star hotel in the style of the Belle Époque situated at the heart of Montreux, directly on the banks of Lake Geneva. For the main meeting, as usual, we will discuss and debate a wide range of current dermatology and dermato-venereology topics. The EDF board has put together an exceptional program based on scientific and medical excellence, whilst at the same time being mindful of diversity, gender and geographical balance.  Our plenary lectures this year cover cutting-edge science and medicine in the fields of circadian rhythms and ageing; Mosaic abnormalities of the skin; Spatial transcriptomics big data and implications to dermatology. Additionally, teledermatology and ageing form the themes for our interactive forum. Kindly refer to the full list of activities in the preliminary program.

Please come and join us from Thursday 19th to Saturday 21st January, 2023 and ensure the success of the meeting. To participate in the 26th EDF Meeting we kindly ask you to register before October 15th, 2022 through our website. In addition, visit our general information section for a summary of the main logistical considerations, travel details and social program of the 26th EDF Annual Meeting.

COVID-19

As we are living unpredictable times, we cannot rule out a new outbreak of the virus. This is why we will monitor the situation closely and already prepare for a hybrid option. After two years having to conduct the Annual Meeting virtually, the Board has decided to go ahead with the face-to-face meeting next year.
